Privacy Policy
Sanitas is designed to process sensitive text locally in the browser before a user manually copies sanitized text into supported AI sites.
What Sanitas processes
Sanitas processes user-entered text inside the extension UI to replace configured sensitive values with placeholders, then restore known placeholders locally when the user chooses Restore mode.
What Sanitas does not do
- No backend service for user content.
- No telemetry, analytics, advertising, or tracking.
- No remote scripts or cloud sync.
- No automatic prompt submission to AI websites.
- No direct AI-site capture or restored-data insertion workflow.
Local and session storage
Harmless preferences such as panel state, layout, theme, and selected mode may be stored in local browser extension storage. Sensitive placeholder mappings, workspace text, output state, and active imported DSN rules are stored only for the current browser session through the extension service worker.
DSN rules
Detection Specification Notation rules are local JSON rules managed by the user. Sanitas validates DSN JSON locally, rejects raw regular-expression and executable fields, and keeps active DSN rules session-only. Optional public rule packs are examples that become active only after the user imports or saves them.
Supported AI site boundary
Users manually copy sanitized placeholder text from Sanitas and paste it into supported AI sites if they choose. Sanitas does not send prompts, user input, DSN rules, workspace text, or generated content to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, or any remote API.
