Overview

Sanitas is designed to process sensitive text locally in the browser. Sanitas v0.1 has no backend, no telemetry, no analytics, no advertising, no remote scripts, and no cloud sync.

Data Stored Locally

Sanitas stores harmless preferences in Chrome local storage, including enabled state, floating window position and size, theme, detector toggles, and similar UI settings.

Sanitas does not store real text, textarea workspace content, placeholder mappings, original values, token maps, custom term values, or DSN rule contents in Chrome local storage.

Session Storage

Sensitive placeholder mappings, textarea workspace content, output state, custom terms, and imported DSN rules are stored only in Chrome session storage through the extension service worker. They are temporary session data and are cleared when Clear Session is confirmed.

ChatGPT Boundary

Sanitas does not expose a direct ChatGPT insertion button. Users manually copy sanitized placeholder text from Sanitas and paste it into ChatGPT if they choose. Sanitas does not auto-submit prompts, automatically capture replies, or insert restored real data into ChatGPT.

Data Sharing

Sanitas does not sell data, run analytics, or transmit user text to a remote backend. The default design has no remote transmission.
