Chrome extension

Screenshot King

Screenshot King is a local-first Chrome extension for capturing webpage screenshots into a drawer queue, previewing them, and inserting them into editable fields across normal websites.

Last updated July 4, 2026.

What Screenshot King Does

Screenshot King adds a compact side drawer to normal webpages. Use it to capture the visible page, drag over a specific area, or save a stitched full-page screenshot when the page supports that capture mode.

Each capture is stored in a local queue with a thumbnail, source title, source URL, timestamp, and capture mode so you can review screenshots before using them.

Screenshot Queue Workflow

Hover a thumbnail to inspect a larger preview. Use Insert or Insert all for supported editors, Copy for pasteable image data, and Copy URL when you need the original page address.

Type /// in a supported editable field to open the screenshot picker and search queued screenshots by origin, URL, title, or wildcard text.

Local-First Privacy Model

Screenshots, thumbnails, source URLs, timestamps, and drawer settings stay in Chrome using chrome.storage.local. Screenshot King has no backend server, no account system, no telemetry, no analytics, no advertising tracker, and no cloud sync.

Clipboard writes happen only after explicit user actions such as Copy, Copy URL, Insert, or Insert all. Screenshot King does not read clipboard contents.
